(X-mas) Etsy finds for your home

Around Christmas, I love to shop around online. Finding cool bits and pieces that you’ll not find at your average store. On top of that, I love to support upcoming shops and shop directly if possible. This year I still need to find a few more presents for our family members, so I’m still on the lookout for that perfect gift. I turned to Etsy to see if I could find something cool and different for the home. Here are some of the things I spotted.

Favourite Finds – Christmas Edition

Oh, how I simply love December. I love the decoration, buying gifts and the gift wrapping – well, I actually think I love that most of all. This year, I’m super busy, but I try to sneak in a bit of Christmas spirit here and there. Unfortunately, our trip to Hamburg didn’t bring out the Christmas spirit this year – not like it used to anyway. The Christmas markets were closed and were to open a few days after we left the city. Bad planning – that’s all I can say. So instead, I’ve found some really cute Christmas decorations – some I’ve already got, and some I would love to add to our home.

Today we celebrate the first day of advent, and if you’re not ready yet, might I suggest these cute candles from Södahl. This year I added the cool grey and white trees to my rather big selection of trees. I don’t know what it is about them, I just love the winter wonderland feeling about Christmas decorations. I simply love the x-mas led lamp – and would be so thrilled to add it to my Christmas collection. On a smaller scale, the black Christmas decoration would be in our living room, or on the Christmas tree. Last but not least, my absolute favorite new trend when it comes to Christmas decor. Don’t you just love Christmas balls in all shapes and sizes? Just do a quick search online and you’ll find the most amazing ones.

With fall comes cozy evenings with a good book

I love this time of the year. Walking around and looking at all the beautiful trees turning red and orange – I fall in love all over again every year.

This is also the time of the year when I really snuggle up with a cup of warm coffee/ hot chocolate or a cup of tea in my favorite corner and enjoy a good book. I use this time to recharge my batteries and it’s an important time of the day for me. Ever since I got into the habit of reading books again I’ve experienced a greater joy. I love getting lost in some universe and getting to know the different characters. The best feeling (and the worst) is when you find yourself not wanting to read the last couple of pages, because you know this will be the end of the story – and you don’t want it to end just yet. That’s when I really love reading books.

I’ve got a long list of books that I want to read this winter. But the other night, when we were visiting my sister-in-law, I got the idea of an advent calendar with books. Somehow, I hadn’t spotted the Comoran Strike series. Don’t ask me why – it’s still a mystery to me. However, there are good things about discovering the series this late. I don’t have to wait for the next one to be published. I’ve been reading a little bit about the series, and I’m pretty sure that it’s just what I need for those cold winter days.

With four books in the series so far – well it’s the perfect advent calendar gift-set if you ask me. To make it easy for your husband/ best friend/ mother / or whoever buys you an advent calendar, I’ve collected the entire series right here.

My fall wishlist

Today, I want to share my fall wishlist with you. I’ve been doing a bit of shopping for the kids – getting them ready for fall/winter. But this year, I’m quite ready for the season to change myself. Unlike any other year, I come prepared. I actually did my own shopping before making sure the kids had what they’ll need to get through. The worst part about that is that I now find myself drooling over all the beautiful fall items in the shops right now. I might have to buy just a tiny bit more – just for me.

My fall wishlist (contains add links)

Gorgeous glitter Chelsea boots from Sofie Schnoor. Oh, I want them right this minute!
Pack of 40 hair tie ball
Cute little brown handbag for work
Oversized ochre cardigan
Really cute rose cashmere sweater
Black cashmere pants – for those cozy winter days
Did anyone say hygge? These slippers are to die for
A little bowl to keep all my bits and pieces in the bathroom

Shopping for dad

Who doesn’t need a few new things for the fall season? I’ve been looking for inspiration for my husband. The kids and I have been talking about surprising him with a few new items this fall. Luckily, it is way easier to find clothes for the kids. But I’ve come up with a few things. If your man isn’t keen on wearing baby pink or any other colour in fashion, well then your choices are a bit limited.
