Smart Space Saving Tips on BoConcept

A while back, I was asked to write something about Smart Space Saving Tips for BoConcept. It is now live on their website and you’ll find some cool tips from some talented ladies. As a family of four, living in the city, space saving ideas are always on top of my mind. Therefore, I was pleased, when they asked me to contribute. If you decide to check it out, you might as well take a look at a few cool office accessories.

A Sosterne Grene Christmas

The Christmas catalogue has landed. As some of you are well aware of, I’m quite a Christmas fan. I love decorating the house, love the cozy atmosphere, love baking with the kids and love finding small advent presents. For me it’s not really Christmas, if I haven’t been to Hamburg in late November/start december. There is something so cheesy, and yet so wonderful about all the Christmas markets and activity in the city. It’s the perfect way to kick off a wonderful season.

One of the other ‘before Christmas traditions’ that I’ve got is to go to Sostrene Grene quite a few times. I always buy something from their Christmas collection, and this year is no exception. Today I want to share some of my favourite items from this year’s collection and their Christmas catalogue.

5 lamps on my wishlist

It’s funny… I’m doing this every fall. By this I mean start looking at different lamps for our home. Somehow I never quite finish this project, or maybe I just buy the wrong lamps (I’m sure that’s what my husband would say ;)) But the fact is that it’s pitch black when we wake up every morning now, and we need some lamps.

Some of the lamps I’ve had a crush on for years, and some of them I’ve just added to my wishlist. I’m looking for lamps in our kitchen near the stairs, one for our dining room, one for the hallway and one for my little guy’s room. Here’s what I’ve come up with so far.

1. Wall lamp Multi from Ellos
2. Muuto wood lamp – white
3. Work lamp from Biltema
4. Please Wait to be Seated Planet lamp – pink
5. JWDA Concrete lamp from Menu

Return to life….

So we bought a dog (his name is Arthur, and he’s the cutest little thing), my husband left for Rio for ten days, my little guy turned 7 years old, the kids returned to school, I returned to work, soccer practice began, I turned 37 years old, went to Mallorca for a week, we returned to school and work again and before I knew it, months pass by…

Welcome back to everyday life.

To say that August and September have been kind of busy would be an understatement. But here I am, still breathing and very much alive.

We’ve been moving some things around, in order for Arthur not to eat or destroy them. It made me look at our home in a whole new light, and some of the things I thought I couldn’t live without, well now that they’re gone, well I kind of love it.

I’m ready for fall (so why is it still very hot outside?) – and I’m ready for some changes around our home. It’s time to get cozy inside, get out all the blankets and candle holders (not that they’ve been that far away – it has been a shitty summer in Denmark this year).

Cool kitchen blackboard

I was reading this post on decor8 a while back, and I saved, because I really loved the family home. The beautiful home belongs to Mariët van der Kooij, who blogs at Miss Jettle.

I’m craving so many things from her kitchen. But what I like the most is the blackboard. I’ve always wanted something like that. I love the small quotes and the drawings on this one. It’s so cozy and filled with personality.

Summer time in the tween bedroom

The kids have been at soccer camp all week, and my husband and I are still busy with work. Two weeks to go before I can sit back and enjoy my summer holiday with the rest of the family.

Tweend bedroom ikea bed

But I’m planning to rearrange a few things in our home before that. Last weekend we ended up buying the Ikea bed for my daughter, which I mentioned in this post. She’s crazy about it. Last night we watched The Karate Kid (her for the first time – and me reliving one of favourite childhood movies) in her bed. We both slept in it last night, which was really cozy. The bedding from Sirlig, which I mentioned in the last post as well is on sale right now, and I just clicked two home for the family. My daughter has been talking about it for ages, so I hope I’ll get an OMG out of her when she sees it.

We still need to decide on prints in her room. I’m not into a whole wall filled with Christopher posters, so we’ll need to find a middleway. I’ve been collecting a few free prints on Pinterest, and then we’ll find a few together.

Decorating a tween room

It’s all about decorating our tween’s room these days. We’ve been talking about buying a new bed for our girl for quite some time. Some of you might remember me writing about building a ‘storage bed’ for her earlier this year. We kind of left it at that. But now we’re at it again. Trying to find the best solution for us and her. And buying a bed she’ll like in a few years time as well. She’ll turn 11 in January, so the bed has to be fit for a teen.

She’s taken an interest in decorating, and she likes to watch videos about decorating. I’ve been watching some of them with her, in order for me to help her find the things that she likes. We’ve come up with this list so far. We’re not certain about the bed yet, but right now it’s on top of her list.

The happy tween
