A few days ago I kicked off a Christmas gift special full of different gift ideas from Etsy. Today, I want to share a few things which I found for the women in your family. Here you’ll find gifts for your mother, sister, daughter or maybe your best friend. Some of the things, I think I’ll have to get for my daughter. My mother is another story. She’s very picky, and I need to find a special gift for her. For more inspiration go to Etsy Editor’s Pick Page, where you’ll find more interesting gift ideas. What are you going to get for the women in your family this year?

I love spending time looking for things on Etsy. There are so many cool items to be found. This year I’ve decided to do a few posts about what to buy for your family members on Etsy. First up is a selection of gifts for your man. I wanted to find items which my husband can use or look at every day. Apart for the funny x-mas socks, I think he would love the cool leather goods as well as the wooden items. We’re trying to bring less into our home these months, and only buy products of a certain quality. For more inspiration go to Etsy Editor’s Pick Page, where you’ll find more interesting gift ideas.

Lately, I’ve come across some beautiful black and white photographs, which I’m seriously considering above our sofa.
The first picture I’ve found on Coco Lapine’s shop. It’s called Black Beach. It’s a beautiful picture of a rock formation touched by the ocean on the black beach, photographed in Iceland. The second is also from her shop, and it’s called Snowy Tree, which was photographed in Munich. The third picture Decordots’ shop. It’s called Rainy Day, and it’s a photo of raindrops on a window.
I’m thinking about buying them all, and then change the photographs on the wall from time to time. The Snowy Tree would be perfect this time of year.

We only buy advent presents for the kids in our home, primarily because my husband isn’t too pleased with the idea in the first place. He thinks the kids get enough presents in December already. But I love each Sunday, because I think it’s special waking up to a small present, and then play with it afterwards. I think it’s an okay compromise, and I would rather buy four bigger presents than 24 small ones for each day.
Even though, my husband isn’t into it at all, I’ve still got a long list of things I would have bought for him – had he been into it. I hope the gifts I’ve picked out will inspire you – and hopefully your man will be happy, when he opens it on a Sunday before Christmas.
Are you ready for four Sundays of advent?

Today, I’m getting ready for winter – it’s the mom edition. I’m pretty sure I’m not alone, when it comes to being last in line, when it’s time to buy practical stuff like warm clothes for the winter? I’ve made sure that the kids will be fully dressed and ready for winter – check out my kids edition from last week – and now it’s my turn.
What to add this year?
This year I need to add a few things to my wardrobe. I’ve got the basics covered. An okay winter jacket – even though it’s a few years old, I’ve got warm boots as well. However, I would love to upgrade just a bit. I want to add both practical pieces, which I know will keep me warm and dry, but I also want them to look good. That’s the eternal problem, if you ask me.

I’ll be taking a few days off work this week to relax and just be with my family – gotta love fall break. This whole foot surgery has been more exhausting than any of us had imagined.
We need time to just be us and focus on the little things in life again. I’ve made a mental list of some of the things I want to do with the kids next week:
1. Drik hot chocolate with lots and lots of cream and marshmallows – this would do too
2. Put on some warm clothes and take a walk in the forrest with my family – including the little four legged cutie
3. Play with chestnuts
4. Watch a movie and make chocolate/peanutbutter popcorn
5. Read in bed – and listen to my little one read out loud. I’m still reading (and enjoying) A Little Life.
