A wishlist for Mother’s Day

Wishes Mothers DayCollage

I know I’m a bit early (if you ask my husband), but I really wanted to make a wishlist – it’s been so long. And the I thought, Mother’s Day is coming up – and it is the perfect excuse. My family and I will be spending the day out in the woods with some friends, but hopefully we’ll have time for a nice breakfast or just a slow morning in bed with books and newspapers.

Street art for the home – IKEA Art Event 2015

IKEA Art event 2015 Last weekend we bought one of the posters from the IKEA street art collection.

Street art is the first theme for IKEA Art Event. IKEA invited 12 street artists from around the world to create 12 unique posters for the company.

We bought Nuria Mora to hang in my daughter’s room. She loved it right away. Her little brother got so jealous, so we might have to go out there again and get one for him as well.

Read more about the project and the different artists right here.

Wishlist for my new hallway

I’ve decided to make a few changes in our hallway. It’s old, dark red, green and gold coloured, and some of it belongs to the old lady living downstairs. Therefore, I cannot change the whole thing just yet. But what I can do is to make a few changes outside my main entrance.

Hallway-web Therefore, I’ve created this collage with some of the things I want to buy to make it feel more like the onside of our home.

One wall is painted grey, and I want to place these things on or in front of that wall.

For years we’ve had the Kubik bookcases from Trævarefabrikernes udsalg. They’ve been used in almost every room in our old home as well as our current home. It’s not too deep, and with a few small storage boxes, it will be perfect for hats, mittens, rain coats and other stuff for the kids.

With two adults and two kids in the house, we really need storage space. We’ve got a ton of shoes. I’m looking for a shoe rack for the one pair of shoes we use the most. The one from Normann Copenhagen has been on my list for some time now.

I would love to add a mirror out there as well. I’ve found this one on Ellos, and it’s not that expensive. No more getting out of the door with messy hair.

The rose Muuto dots would look great on the grey wall, and I would use them for tote bags. To add a bit more rose colour out there, I would like to add the Vee Speers The Birthday Party on the wall as well.

It’s a working vacation

First of all, Happy Easter from Aalborg. I hope you’re enjoying some time with your family and loved ones.

I’ve been keeping busy at home for almost a week now. It’s my Easter vacation, and the four of us are enjoying spending time at home, visiting friends, staying up late, cooking new dishes and cakes and of course redecorating our home.

After a much needed spring cleaning, I can now concentrate on moving things around in our home – trying out different spots and creating new installations. I’m loving it.

Right now we’re in the middle of a kitchen make-over. We’ve hated the kitchen ever since we saw the home for the first time. So we were never in doubt about the future of it. We just needed to live and cook in it for some time, before deciding on what to keep and what to change. foto 2 We decided on painting our kitchen cabinets instead of getting a whole new kitchen. In less than a week our kitchen will be grey. We decided on the same shade of grey (grey ral 7004) as the String shelves. A large blackboard is also in the making right now.

foto 1 Our rood top terrace is also on our list before heading back to work again. We’ve bought fresh herbs and an olive tree, and after another round of oil we’re ready to dig out the Garpen lounge furniture we bought at Ikea last year. I cannot wait to sit out there at night, reading and enjoying a cold drink. You can see pictures from last year right here, here and here.

Today, I’m also getting ready for yet another round of Blogging Your Way. This time our co-teacher will be Tina Fussell from Traveling Mama. I’ve been reading her blog for ages, and she’s such an inspiration. I love seeing Copenhagen through her eyes. I cannot wait for class to start on Monday.

How I imagine my night

I shared this picture on Instagram today. It was taken on Sunday, where I had a few hours all to myself. I relaxed, drank coffee, read blogs and this wonderful Danish book about getting the most out of your life. I’m so inspired to go out there and make the most of it.

My Sunday

I think it’s a January thing. These days I find it really exhausting getting out of bed in the morning, then I drag myself to work, write articles all day long, try not to fall asleep on my way to pick up the kids and then we all go home and play cards and drink something hot. It’s nice to relax at home after long day.
