I was looking for inspiration the other day, and I found this cute little home in Gothenburg. While looking at all the beautiful details, I actually started looking at all the champagne bottles. Suddenly I got the urge to hop in a car and drive to France and buy bottle after bottle. I wonder if my husband would feel the same?
When we planned our wedding reception back in 2007 we wanted a fancy wedding cake and lots of champagne. We were students back then with a little girl and didn’t have enough money for a big wedding party – but we wanted to splash out on these two things. I haven’t regretted it one moment. It’s still one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Some people didn’t understand our decision, but I loved the fact that we didn’t care. It was our party, and that’s how we wanted to celebrate the day with friends and family.
But somehow the champagne bottles haven’t been that big a part of my life since. Of course, we drink a few bottles on New Year’s Eve every year and on special occasions. However, I would love to pop a bottle on a Saturday night as well. I think I’ll add “drink more champagne” on my life goals. That’s not a bad plan if you ask me.
Back to the apartment
I should also add a comment about the apartment – it’s only fair. The styling of this small home is pretty impressive if you ask me. It’s a small apartment, but it’s got everything you need. I cannot help but admire the smeg fridge. I’ve loved it forever, but now I’m not so sure I would actually buy one for our kitchen. I’m convinced that our old fridge will be the next thing to go in our home. So I’ll have to decide sooner than Iater. I’m also in love with the old rustic door. What is your favourite part of this home?
It’s time for some real home inspiration again. I’ve been focusing a bit too much on the lifestyle part of this blog lately, and I haven’t shared some inspiring photos of lovely homes in a while.
But today is the day. I’ve collected a few favourites for you, and hope you’ll start your weekend full of inspiration. As you can see, I’m not quite finished with the grey scale interior, if I ever will be. I love stylings like these, and would love for my own home to look just a fraction like these. I’ll keep dreaming and collecting images for inspiration. Have a wonderful weekend <3

Right now I’ve got a black kitchen craving. I know it’s not the time to renovate our kitchen, but I still love looking at beautiful kitchens for inspiration.
I’m leaning towards a black kitchen, primarily because the rest of our home is very white. The kitchen is the first thing you see, when you enter our home, so I would love for it to stand out a bit. Make a bit of a statement, and that’s why I’m thinking dark colors. And it fits perfectly with my black kitchen cravings. I pin a lot of pictures of different kitchens, but I always get super excited, when I find a beautiful black/or dark grey kitchen.
Then when I found this black kitchen, I was pretty happy. It contains many of the elements, which I love. Take the tiles for example. We’ve got similar tiles on our kitchen – the only thing I really like about our current kitchen. And then there is the black kitchen cabinets. I would change the kitchen countertops with wood instead. In a few days, I’ll show you another black kitchen with a wooden countertop.
I’m not sure where to start. This weekend I saw this home in Arsenalsgatan on Alvhem, and my eyes kept wandering to the next cool detail in this amazing home. The interior in this studio flat is so well picked out. To name a few of things that I love, I would point out the beautiful grey wall, the fantastic dark wooden floor (no more white floor for me that’s for sure), the prints on the wall and the cool workspace. But I could go on and on and on. But I’ll just leave it up to you to take it all in.
This is my second week in Aarhus. I’m attending a course in Online Marketing, which is really interesting. I’m really excited about this course, but it also means that I’ll be busy studying again, because there is an exam at the end of September.
Therefore, I might not be quite as active here on Espresso Moments during the next couple of weeks, but I hope to stop buy a few times a week, to inspire you.
While I’m here in Aarhus, away from my family, I dream about a family vacation. I wouldn’t mind a day or two in Göthenburg in Sweden. Looking at these pictures of a typical swedish home makes me want to go even more.
After a busy weekend which included a school fair, gin & tonics on a Friday night, a Rasmus Seebach family koncert in pouring rain, testing our new grill, taking pictures of our home, BYW homework, baking, cleaning the whole house, a birthday and a playdate for the kids and our girl had two soccer matches on Saturday morning. Well, no wonder I’m a bit tired today.
Today, I’ll hopefully catch up with my last two BYW lessons, work on the web shop and dream a little about a trip to Gothenburg. This small apartment on Alvhem, made me want to go even more. We’ve taken a trip to Gothenburg the last two summers with our girl, but we haven’t planned one this year. But maybe there is still time. While I dream, you can pick up a few interesting interior ideas from this beautiful home.
Have a lovely Monday <3
