Cool DIY projects for fall – all with Ikea items

DIY for fall It’s getting darker outside every day right now. And most of the bright hours during the day are spent behind a desk working, right? At least that’s the case with my time right now.

But I wanted to add a few fun projects, projects that won’t take up too much time (and thereby never get finished – like the ones I told you abou here). I’ve collected a few cool DIY projects that I want to do during these dark hours.

I’ve selected three different projects. First up is the terracotta pot series Ingefära from Ikea. Truth be told, I will never be a fan of the terracotta color and that is why I love this little DIY project by Frida from Trendenser. Frida is also the woman behind the second DIY project, where she has painted three Ikea stools in different colors. They would be cool as bed side tables or simply a stool.

Lastly, I want to make a cool Ikea trash can with leather handles, like the one Valentina shoved on her new blog House of Valentina. Check out how to make this leather trash can right here.

9 cute rubber stamps from Etsy

I don’t know which one of us is most excited about rubber stamps. But my daughter and I love to decorate presents and cards using different rubber stamps. It’s just as much fun (if not more) than buying the actual present. We’ve got a busy birthday season coming up, so I thought it would be nice to add a few stamps to our collection.

Table love in Sthlm

table

I’ve been looking for a new dining table solution for months now. Our Ikea table just isn’t working for us anymore.

This morning, I found this beautiful home in Stockholm on Fantastic Frank, and I immediately fell in love with the dining table. We’ve got the Hay Loop Stand Table Legs in black, now all we need is wood. It would look fantastic with our black AJ chairs. I’ll add this to our list of weekend projects. I saved a few other pictures from the apartement. Check out the beautiful leather sofa.

DIY for fall

I’ve started collecting a few ideas for DIY projects for fall. I’m getting rather restless these days – and I need different projects at home to distract me, otherwise I get in a foul mood – and we don’t want that.

fall DIY projects

Here are a few of the DIY projects on my list:

Le paper globe – I want to make one or two – one for each kid. Want to make your own, then you can print it right here and get started.

Kitchen labels – I found some really cool ones and a guide over at nordic mojo. Unfortunately, the link to his labels doesn’t work anymore. But it’s great for inspiration. I really need labels like these in my kitchen – and it would be the perfect fall project.

Cord decoration – I first saw this idea a few years ago, and I’ve been wanting to try it out for ages. Now that I might have found wooden balls large enough to fit the purpose, there’s no excuse anymore.

Paper airplane – Ever since I saw Tina’s, also known as Traveling Mama, cute decorations for her boy’s birthday party last year, I’ve been wanting to add paper planes to my boy’s room. He’s got a large old school map on one wall in there, so the planes would be really cool. To see more pictures and to have a look at Tina’s guide, click here.

Lamp decoration – Ever since we moved into the new house, over two years ago, I’ve been wanting to change or even throw out a few lamps. Therefore, I think it’s time to either decorate them or get rid of them. I’ve got a few ideas in my head for decoration.
