My fall wishlist

Today, I want to share my fall wishlist with you. I’ve been doing a bit of shopping for the kids – getting them ready for fall/winter. But this year, I’m quite ready for the season to change myself. Unlike any other year, I come prepared. I actually did my own shopping before making sure the kids had what they’ll need to get through. The worst part about that is that I now find myself drooling over all the beautiful fall items in the shops right now. I might have to buy just a tiny bit more – just for me.

A mini-break at Ystad Saltsjöbad? – yes please…

I’m in the need of a fall mini-break abroad. We didn’t leave the country during our fall vacation, and I’m beginning to feel an itch to get the h*** out of here. I need some peace around me to recharge my batteries. Otherwise, I don’t think I’ll make it till the Christmas break 😉

Therefore, I found myself browsing the internet for places to go in November. Normally, we would go to Hamburg this time of year, but due to different circumstances, we’ll stay home this year.

But I’m thinking more along the lines of a spa break. I’ve been seeing lots and lots of pictures of what looks like amazing hours spend at Ystad Saltsjöbad. I would love to go there with my husband and just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. A dinner for two, without nonstop questions being asked by one of the kids wouldn’t be half bad either. Then a quick stop in Malmö on the way home for a bit of shopping and a good cup of coffee. Well, I don’t know about you, but it sounds like the perfect mini-break to me?

The big question now is wether or not to buy it right this minute? Or should I wait and then put it under the Christmas tree for the one I love. Actually, I’m finding it hard to decide right now. Either way, a trip in the fall season or the winter season – well it all sounds fantastic to me. I’ll ponder about if for a few days, but one thing I’m sure about is the fact that it has to be for two nights.  A long weekend would be just perfect. If you fee like a mini-break as well, check out the different deals right here. In the meantime, I’ll try and get my head around some Christmas presents, and then I’ll know what to do.

5 books to read this fall

It’s time for some serious fall reading. The weather is cold and wet, and it’s time for me (and you) to enjoy even more great books inside under a blanket.

I’ve been offline with my family for the last couple of days. But now I’m back with a list of books currently on my wishlist. Some of them are already on their way to my mailbox. The past few days, we’ve been taking things slow, enjoying some time with our family in Aarhus and in Hjørrring, been fighting a cold (it’s that time of the year again), but now it’s time to return to ‘real life’ again.

Coffee, Paris and life hacks

As you might have guessed by now, I’m pretty passionate about my coffee. And when I came across some of these books, I had to have them. I remember our travel destinations based on where to get the best cup of coffee – and I always research before we go. I would never land in a city and not know where to get a decent cup of coffee. I’m sure two of these books will be of much help in the future. The other ones are simply based on interest and curiosity. I always love reading about new things and finding inspiration in that.

Too cool for school – boy edition

Too cool for school - boy

What about your boy – is he too cool for school when it comes to clothes? Last Sunday I shoved you what I would buy for my soon to be teenage girl right now. I love this season, because if you ask me there’s nothing better than to curl up in some comfy clothes and just enjoy the beautiful weather. I absolutely love fall – to me it’s the most beautiful time of the year.

My son is the quite opposite of my daughter – he’s been very aware and direct when it comes to clothes ever since he was little. He loves cool clothes – and this summer he wanted to look like dad when he had the chance. So I figured, why not buy a blue shirt for him as well. He’ll love it, and I’ll enjoy watching my hubby and his mini-me walking around.

I’ll add a few more posts about what I’ll end up buying this season – but this one will focus on items from Zara. I like the quality (it’s not half bad), it’s rather cheap and they’ve got some pretty cool items each season. I’ll add items from more expensive Danish brands as well, and I love going on a clothes hunt in order to find cool clothes for the little guy.

Shopping list:
Bag with a splash of paint
Blue shirt (Like father like son)
Black scarf
Basic fall/winter jacket
Cool rock shoes
Relaxing black pants
Grey sweater

5 things I want to do during our fall break

forrest-fall

I’ll be taking a few days off work this week  to relax and just be with my family – gotta love fall break. This whole foot surgery has been more exhausting than any of us had imagined.

We need time to just be us and focus on the little things in life again. I’ve made a mental list of some of the things I want to do with the kids next week:

1. Drik hot chocolate with lots and lots of cream and marshmallows – this would do too
2. Put on some warm clothes and take a walk in the forrest with my family – including the little four legged cutie
3. Play with chestnuts
4. Watch a movie and make chocolate/peanutbutter popcorn
5. Read in bed – and listen to my little one read out loud. I’m still reading (and enjoying) A Little Life.

Fall moments

It’s been quiet in here for some time partly due to my foot surgery. It’s nothing major, but it had me in bed for almost a week. I’m slowly walking around our home now – one step at a time. On top of it, I’m trying to chase away a cold, but it’s not working yet. I cannot wait to go outside later today. It’s a test walk – because I have to get up and go to work tomorrow – and I need to see if I can walk around in shoes. skaermbillede-2016-10-09-kl-10-55-48 I’ve been dreaming about fall, cozy nights with hot chocolate, lots and lots of books, blankets and lit candles all around our home. I just bought Kubus 4 – the cool grey one – and I’ve been enjoying it very much. It’s such a pretty color. I posted the above picture on Instagram yesterday, because I was going mad. I really wanted to go outside. If you want to get inspired by this lovely season, check out my new board Fall moments on Pinterest.
