Want Wear Need Read in January

Baby it’s cold and white outside, but I love it. I’m wrapped up in numerous layers of clothes, whenever I leave our home. There is nothing like a big warm knitted cardigan. My kids are having a blast. They can play outside in the snow all day long. Then they return with red cheeks and eyes full of joy, and then it’s time for a hot cup of tea and a board game or a book. It truly is a wonderful time of the year.

I’ve got a blog classic for you today, which I for some reason haven’t tried yet. But there’s a first time for everything. Here’s my take my Want Wear Need Read in January.

Want – This month I can not stop thinking about the new confetti wallpaper from ferm LIVING. It’ll be in stores in a few months time, and I’m so tempted to give this smartwall wallpaper a go.

Wear – Safety first, right?. That’s why I love the Reflective badge “Oreflector”, which shines in the dark. The Oreflector comes in different sizes and different colours – perfect for the whole family.  “Wear “Oreflector” without ruining your outfits and without being run over” <3

Need – We still haven’t found what we’re looking for in terms of a lamp for our stairway. I’ve had my eyes on the Grenade lamp, designed by Alvar Aalto, for quite some time, but I’m still not sure it’s the right lamp for that corner.

Read – January means lots and lots of reading, and I’ve found the coolest bookmark for my books. The finely-cut metal bookmark from Octaevo is shaped like a pair of stylish sunglasses – isn’t that cool?

My January wishlist

Wishlist in January

Christmas was not that long ago, but seeing all the beautiful SS16 collections from some of my favourite brands has made me add quite a few things to my never-endnig-wishlist. I’ve picked out a few things from the list to share with you today.

The Muuto restore storage basket has been on my list for quite some time. I actually thought about buying one or two for my boy’s room. They are really pretty, and it would be perfect for some of his toys. But lately I’ve been thinking about adding one to our new cozy corner in the dining room. The storage basket would be perfect right next to the sofa. I would fill it with magazines, books, toys and all the other stuff we ‘forget’ in there.

I’ve had my eyes on the ‘older’ version of the ferm LIVING collect vases. But the new edition of the collect vases from the SS16 collection is much more me. I bet I’ll end up buying it.

Another thing on my wishlist is the new maze blanket from ferm LIVING. It’s also from the new collection. Even though I’m still in love with the one I’ve got, I think it’s a January thing. My kids snug up in the sofa with either a book or an iPad and the blanket, and some days (I’m sure you know those days too), I wish I had two blankets – one for each of them.

I wrote about the new Gravity Rack from Nomess last year as well. I’m still rather smitten with it, and even though I don’t have a space for it yet, I’m still dreaming about it. It’s a pretty cool idea.

This beautiful Annaleena print has appeared on my wishlist before. I still love the pink stairs, and I’m hoping that one day it’ll hang on my wall.

ferm Living AW15 – The new lines

Today, I want to share some of my favourite pieces from ferm living‘s AW15 collection. Ferm living AW15 Here is what I’ve picked out from the new collection. I really like the Turn Sofa and the Turn Daybed. Really beautiful and simple and they go straight to my list of candidates for our dining room corner.

The Cluster Tables are simply gorgeous, and I’ll have a look around our home and see if I can find a space for them. The Square Magazine Holder is pretty cool, and for someone like me, who buys way too many magazines, well I need to keep them somewhere nice.

I also found a few things for the kids. Two cute Gym bags – the Rose Rabbit Gym Bag for my girl and the Landscape Gym Bag for my boy. I also fell in love with the Rose Rabbit Bedding. I guess it’s not going in our bedroom, my husband would hate it, so I’ll have to convince my daughter that she cannot live without ; )

Dining room corner

We, or should I say I’m moving things around in our home these days. First I moved my work station into our bedroom and then moved the dining table. I wanted to redecorate our dining room in order to make room for a sofa of some sorts. We need a spot in there, where we can sit down and relax. Right now we’ve only got one armchair and a safari chair – and lets face it, the safari chair is nice to look at, but you don’t use it, when you want to relax. I’ve created a mood board in order to keep track of my thoughts when it comes to decorating the room.

A ferm living collaboration

17705739195_aafdf96c3e_o I’m loving Jennifer Hagler’s styling and collaboration with Ferm Living. Just look at her styling of their S/S ’15 line. Isn’t it lovely? After seeing her styling, I actually love the Collect vases, which I must admit, I hadn’t given much credit beforehand. This is the second part of the styling collaboration that Jennifer has shown on her blog. Check out the rest of part II right here, and if you want more, you can find part I here as well. Now I’ll go and add the vases to my wishlist.

Have a beautiful day <3
