Yes, summer is finally here. I don’t know about you guys, but I was more than ready for a bit of summer. Not sticky hot, but just a bit of warmth and a reason to eat outside in the garden. We’re slowly getting an idea of what we want to do in the garden this year. We’re, let us be honest, not garden people, but we love a bit of coziness and hygge outside with friends. The fact that our garden is rather big, and the old lady downstairs can’t do anything out there anymore, well we don’t have enough time, or passion to do a total makeover of the garden alone. Hopefully, a nice family will move in downstairs next, and then we can work on the garden together.
Whenever I’m trying to decide something in relation to decorating, I usually end up creating a board like this one. It helps me bring together all the elements, and then I can show my husband my ideas. He gets tired of my numerous pins on Pinterest. So I guess this is the perfect solution. For this board, I had a look at Ikea’s website for inspiration and added a few extra things.
Summer in the garden – Shoppinglist:
Solvinden lamp – These I simply love!
Olive tree – I might just have a go at this one again this year
Salladskål ‘plat ladder’ – This is pretty cool if you ask me
Solvinden LED lamp
Living by Heart Outdoor candle
And the most important thing, when you return with all these goods – make an Aperol Spritz and relax in your for a bit before assembling the things. There should always be time for a bit of hygge while working. I’ll soo if I can snap a few pictures of our garden when I’ve done a bot of gardening and decorating. Hopefully, I’ll be happy with the result.
I’ve been away from Espresso Moments for quite a few months now. I’ve been busy working and spending time with friends and family. However, I thought I would return with some garden inspo. More about that later in this post, but first something about why I’ve decided to return.
I did try a comeback a few times during the first half of this year, simply because I wasn’t finished with this blog-thing. But time and time again life got in the way of blogging, and it went quiet in here again. But this time, I’m really going to get my act together and start posting again. I really miss this place, and I’ve got some time on my hands now, so why not relaunch this thing?
I know it’s time to start my summer vacation in a few weeks, but hopefully I’ll be inspired to still check in here once or twice a week. If not, then I can assure you that I’ll be back full time at the end of July.
Right now it’s supposed to be summer here in Denmark – but it comes as no surprise that it’s quite windy here and not that warm yet. But we’ve still got to take care of our garden. We’ve got a few plans and projects for this summer, but I’m not sure we’ll finish all of them this year. I’ve been collecting pictures on Pinterest in order to show my husband, what I had in mind. So here’s a collection of some of the pictures I’ve showed him.

My girl turned 10 years old in January. Back then she decided that she wanted a summer party in our garden instead of a birthday party during the cold winter.
I was perfectly fine with that solution (truth be told, I’m more than okay with that solution), and these days we’re planning the party, printing out stuff and deciding on what food to make. It’s a fun mother-daughter activity.
Here’s a selection of the things she wanted to buy at Urban Outfitters for the party.
1. Swan Pool Float
2. Pineapple Ice Cube Tray
3. Corn on the Cob Skewer set
4. Pineapple To-Go Sipper Cup
5. Watermelon Beach Ball
6. Flamingo Ice Cube tray
7. Watermelon Sipper Cup
8. Flamingo Watering Can
9. Cactus light
For more inspiration check out my pinterest board Party Moments. I’ll share some ideas about the food in another post.
I’ve got a few things on my wishlist right now. I’m in need of music when I’m working, and I’ve been looking for the best solution. It would be so cool to be able to listen to music while at work. I’m also shopping for a few things for our trip to Mallorca later on this summer. And with weather like this, I really want to add a few things in our garden as well. We love eating outside, and we’ve had some great nights out in the garden this year.

Though the wind is still going strong here in Aalborg, I decided to show you a few outdoor spaces that I love. Later today a group of friends will join us for a a cozy afternoon and dinner – hopefully in the garden.
