Happy Halloween out there. I hope you’ll have a wonderful evening with your kids and close friends. My kids have been dressing up a few times during the past weeks – and today they’re either attend a party at school or go trick or treat’ing with friends tonight. This is what my daughter will look like, if you see her in the streets of Aalborg. I actually kind of like this tradition. It has grown on me, and who knows maybe we’ll go all in next year. I know my husband would like to do something scary in our hall.
I’ve collected a few links for you, if you need a last minute Halloween idea. It’s mostly food, because I’m planning on enjoying at least one cup of hot chocolate later today.
– How to turn your teen into a skeleton – make up inspiration coming up
– Halloween party ideas for kids (if you’re making pizza for tonight, why not turn the cheese into ghosts?)
– Forgot to buy candy for the kids – turn your clementine into a pumpkin or check out these as well
– Last minute Halloween treats – you’ll love some of these creative ideas
– Create a Halloween hot chocolate bar
Halloween is just around the corner, and my kids are making plans and talking about what to wear for the party. My girl has at least two parties to attend this year, and my little man will probably attend a party at his school. It’s such a fun day here in our neighborhood, some of our neighbors go all in, and they scare the s*** out of the kids, which is so much fun to watch. Last year, my daughter and her friend ran away from a house screaming, when they went trick or treat.
Normally, we don’t decorate our house, apart from a few Jack o lantern’s, which we carve out with the kids. The past few years we’ve meet up with some friends for a bit of Halloween fun. While we help the kids with their pumpkins, we also have time to drink lots of coffee, talk and make dinner. This little get together is the perfect excuse to try out a few different Halloween dishes or cakes. Normally, my daughter will find something spooky to bake, and we hit the kitchen together. Usually, it’s fun to make, and the kids love eating it, if it’s not too gross.
So with all the parties, we had to figure out what kind of costume to make or buy this year. My daughter and I sat down this past weekend to plan her outfit. She wanted to be a zombie teen. I didn’t want to buy a cheap pre-made costume, so we decided to look for ‘real’ clothes instead. This way she can use some of it afterwards. This is what we came up with.

Family time took over last week. We had some wonderful days together. We had dinners with friends, went to the movies, played with friends, got our garden ready for the coming season and so much more. It was just what I needed.
Halloween is just around the corner, and I still need a few things for the kids’ costumes. It turns out that we cannot go all in this year after all, because my girl is away on soccer camp all night and my boy will be at the camp during the day as well. But we’ll make some spooky food and invite a few friends over for dinner anyway.
I found a few cool printables that’ll help you get into the Halloween spirit. How about a game of Halloween Bingo – that would be fun. Even though my kids won’t be home for trick or treat – I’ve got a few things ready for the kids in the neighborhood.

During the last couple of years, more and more Danes have picked up the Halloween tradition. Personally, I love it. I would love to throw a Halloween party and dress up. I’ve been collecting pictures and other scary Halloween stuff on Pinterest for years, and it’s time to go all in.
This year I have to get two kids ready for the Halloween party at the school. The little one is going as a skeleton and my girl is going as a black cat. I’ll show you pictures on Instagram when they are ready for the party.
During the next couple of weeks, I want to share Halloween related pieces with you here on the blog.

The main reason I wanted to share these was because some of them made me smile yesterday. They are so extremely cute especially the mini Anna Wintour. You can find much more about her costume and the other fashion costumes on Oh Happy Day. I also included a few less fashion minded costumes – they look super cute. Imagine being a giant donut.
