I’m thrilled to see the AW2017 news from by Lassen. I love the fact that they’ve focused on functional design for the hallway. Most often it’s the first room people see, when they visit you – and I know ours has been filled with shoes, raincoats and what have you for way too long.
And being the design geek that I am, I’m even more thrilled about the fact that they’ve taken us back to where it all started, namely with the burnished copper Kubus candleholder, just like the first one designed in the 1960s by Mogens Lassen. That’s fantastic news, if you ask me. Now I’ll just have to come up with a solid plan in order for my husband to wrap his head around the fact that I need yet another Kubus candleholder.

Advent is just around the corner. Are you ready? If now, I’ve got some last minute ideas for you. Some of them might need a bit of shopping before you can create them at home, but you’ve still got a few days left.
I ended up using my Kubus candle holder from ByLassen again this year. I like in nice and simple – also when it comes to Christmas decorations. I’m a bit of a weird Christmas freak, when it comes to decorations. Truth be told, I’m more of a winter decorations kind of gal. I’ll add snowflakes, trees, snow, glitter, silver, some black, some lights and some toy animals and cars – and then I’m ready for December

Are you ready for the first Sunday of Advent yet? Have you made your Advent wreath? If not, hurry up and get your Kubus 4 candle holder and let’s get started. I’ve selected a few examples of how to decorate your ByLassen candle holder.
I’ll show you a few tips on what to use this year. So don’t worry, you’ll make in time to sit back and enjoy the day with your family too. Check out what I did with my own Kubus 4 for Advent here on Instagram.

I’ve been a very lucky girl this season. In the last days of December, we bought a few beautiful design icons for our home. Some of them have been on my wish list for years. I cannot wait for the last things to arrive.
Along with some of our Christmas presents, well now our dining room/my work corner/ our library is coming together. I’ve hated this part of our home ever since we moved in, because we hadn’t found a proper solution yet.
But now I enjoy walking into the room, and I can actually relax, when I’m in here reading or simply relaxing. I don’t get lost in thoughts like “Oh, we could add this piece of furniture in here, or this painting”. It’s a wonderful feeling.

I’ve been fascinated by design for as long as I can remember. My childhood neighbour was the boss at a production facility, where they made Georg Jensen products. And from time to time, I got to pick out a gift from their collection. So from a very early age, I got interested in their collections. I remember one time, where I got to pick out my favourite item on a table. There was no doubt in my mind, I picked out a candle holder designed by Arne Jacobsen for the SAS Royal Hotel. When I picked it out, I didn’t know that it was designed by Arne Jacobsen, I just picked it out, because I loved the design. Knowing what I know now, I’m thrilled that I didn’t pick something else, because it is still one of my favourite items in our home.
But to make a long story short, I just came to think of this story, when I saw this home earlier today. The home, I’m about to show you, is packed with many of my design favourites. So I hope you’ll enjoy the tour as much as I did.
You can read more about the home right here.
