Halloween Zombie Teen DIY

Halloween is just around the corner, and my kids are making plans and talking about what to wear for the party. My girl has at least two parties to attend this year, and my little man will probably attend a party at his school. It’s such a fun day here in our neighborhood, some of our neighbors go all in, and they scare the s*** out of the kids, which is so much fun to watch. Last year, my daughter and her friend ran away from a house screaming, when they went trick or treat.

Normally, we don’t decorate our house, apart from a few Jack o lantern’s, which we carve out with the kids. The past few years we’ve meet up with some friends for a bit of Halloween fun. While we help the kids with their pumpkins, we also have time to drink lots of coffee, talk and make dinner. This little get together is the perfect excuse to try out a few different Halloween dishes or cakes. Normally, my daughter will find something spooky to bake, and we hit the kitchen together. Usually, it’s fun to make, and the kids love eating it, if it’s not too gross.

So with all the parties, we had to figure out what kind of costume to make or buy this year. My daughter and I sat down this past weekend to plan her outfit. She wanted to be a zombie teen. I didn’t want to buy a cheap pre-made costume, so we decided to look for ‘real’ clothes instead. This way she can use some of it afterwards. This is what we came up with.

Photo a Day – this week

February is coming to an end now- even though I actually feel like it has just begun. I love the fact that the sun is shining and everything looks so inviting right now.

I haven’t been quite as active with my daily challenge this month – but this week I did manage to snap a few pictures. Here are my favourite ones. You can see the rest on my Instagram photos right here. (You can also follow me @espressomoments).

My favourite new shoes – I spotted them last weekend and it was love at first sight. Day 24’s challenge was inside my bathroom cabinet – so here is a glimpse of what I use on a daily basis. And the last photo challenge was green. I don’t think I own anything green, so luckily for me my mother visited us yesterday and she bought these beautiful tulips for me at the local market.
