I’ve just returned from a quick city break in Hamburg with my husband. It was a spur of the moment decision. We arrived at our hotel at 8pm Friday night – so we hadn’t planned anything. We just relaxed and enjoyed the amazing city. Pictures to come later. Right now I want to show you a beautiful home.
And look out for my guest post on a special Boutique Hotel tomorrow.
I’ve been in Sweden most of the week on a seminar, so I’ve been unable to write blog posts or get my daily fix. So I’m quite happy that it’s Saturday. My boy had his first day in kindergarden while I was away, and on Monday my girl will start school. We’re going to hang out on a playground today with a few other friends. It’s nice and relaxing, and the perfect way to relax on a Saturday afternoon. And the sun is shining! Things are not dull here at all.
I want to share with you this beautiful Stockholm home. It’s bright, filled with light and filled with my favourite String systems and other favourite design items of mine. The dining corner is just amazing with the round table and the mix of chairs. A splash of colour here and there – it’s not too much – but just right. And what a lucky kid – the room is just adorable – and I love the wallpaper. I’ve been debating whether or not to buy wallpaper for my girl’s room – or if I should just paint one wall. I really need to do something about her room soon.

I found this home over at Emmas Designblogg, and what an amazing space. Fancy moving to Stockholm and live in this? I wouldn’t mind. Just look at the sunlight in the bedroom.
There is no harm in dreaming. And a SEK 13,75 million dream is a super deluxe one, I know. But when I wake up, I still want to add some of the not too expensive things to my own home. This amazing apartment with 5 rooms is in Stockholm, Sweden.
My ideal living situation would be a cute little townhouse in the middle of the city. To me that would be the perfect mix of everything I love – the buzz from the city and the small garden. I’m always on the lookout for such a house. Hopefully, one day we’ll find the perfect match in terms of price and space. Until then, I’ll just dream and look at other lovely houses like this one in Stockholm.
Yet again I find myself carried away by the beautiful pictures from Fantastic Frank, and of course the amazing space right in the centre of Stockholm.
Living with two kids under the age of six in the middle of a city makes you extremely aware of your living space – of at least that is the case in our home. You have to come up with different solutions as the kids grow up – and it’s always with a limited amount of rooms and space. In our case we rent our apartment, so our options are rather limited. We cannot tear down a wall or put one up to create an extra room.
Even though it bugs me at times, it’s also what keeps me going. I love to come up with new solutions, rearrange rooms or corners to make them fit our current needs.
And now I’ll return to the wonderful apartment in Stockholm. I love how they’ve made a room for sleeping and a room for play. The fact that the adults can work/play in the same room, where the kids are playing is wonderful, because we all know how things turn out in the end right?
Lastly I want to highlight a few details that I particularly love about this place.
– The stove to rule them all. This is my idea of heaven, and the very first thing we do buy, when we move into our very own place someday.
– The bed with lots and lots of storage underneath. I just haven’t figured out the construction of this bed yet.
– Of course the various versions of the String shelves.
– And the view of course.
