New prints – something for the family home

I don’t really need new posters or prints for our walls – but I always get inspired or should I call it tempted, when I get a mail from Desenio. I’ve got a discount waiting for me, and I just had to stop by their site to check out the selection. Oh darn, it’ too tempting. I could add at least 20 new ones to my basket in a minute.

Here are some of the posters and prints that I would add to my basket, if I were to buy some today. I’ve found some for the whole family – and with a birthday coming up in August, when my boy turns 8, well who knows, maybe he’ll get a poster or two.

Urban Shopping with a tween

Shopping, shopping and more shopping. Later this year we’re going to Copenhagen with the kids. The first thing my daughter said was YES! then we can go to Urban Outfitters. She loves the store and she could easily buy the first 100 items there.

To kill time we hit the online shop for inspiration – and then she could make a wishlist of the things she would like to buy. Truth be told, I kind of like some of the things as well, so I don’t mind going in there with her, and a few of the things could end up on my wishlist as well. It’s the perfect mother-daughter store if you ask me. It’s not the clothes we’re after, but it’s the Home & Gifts section.

Staycation in Denmark – Things to do and pack

The summer holiday is getting closer by the minute. This year it’s a staycation summer for us – even though it is a bit nerve wrecking with the weather just now. But I’m sure we’ll figure something out.

We’re going to Christiansminde near Svendborg again this year. It’s the perfect spot for me and my family. We can relax, enjoy the beautiful surroundings, explore Fyn and simply enjoy a bit of time away from home. It’s our fifth summer there, so we haven’t planned a whole lot yet. I think we’ll just see what happens.

I’ve made of list of things to bring or do on your staycation – and if the weather continues, you should look at it as a survival kit 😉

Staycation Survival kit

The Survival kit
Tip 1 – Games
– Always bring lots of games in case of a rainy day or a slow evening on the terrace. This year, I plan to bring Scrabble for my husband and I and Speak Out for the whole family.
Tip 2 – Aperol – If you ask me it’s still a wonderful summer drink. I plan to enjoy a Aperol Spitz while overlooking the sea. Fancy to spice up your Aperol this summer, then take a look at this link (it’s in Danish).
Tip 3 – Raincoat – If you live in Denmark or you plan a trip here during the summer (or any other time of the year for that matter) invest in a pretty raincoat. Trust me, you’ll not regret it. This one is from Zara’s Girls collection, and I’m in love.
Tip 4 – Books – Summer means reading lots of books, if you ask me. A thing I’m trying to pass on to my kids as well. Hopefully, I’ll succeed. This summer I plan to read The Way I Used to Be by Amber Smith and a few other books as well.
Tip 5 – Breakfast – It’s my favourite meal of the day. Normally, I don’t have much time to prepare a delicious breakfast, but during the weekends we often make something special. Imagine 3 weeks in breakfast heaven – I know I’m in for a treat in Christiansminde, but I know my husband will make something even better, when we get home. On top of my wishlist is The No Mess Waffle maker – with one of these our mornings will be magic.

The relaunch & garden inspo

I’ve been away from Espresso Moments for quite a few months now. I’ve been busy working and spending time with friends and family. However, I thought I would return with some garden inspo. More about that later in this post, but first something about why I’ve decided to return.

I did try a comeback a few times during the first half of this year, simply because I wasn’t finished with this blog-thing. But time and time again life got in the way of blogging, and it went quiet in here again. But this time, I’m really going to get my act together and start posting again. I really miss this place, and I’ve got some time on my hands now, so why not relaunch this thing?

I know it’s time to start my summer vacation in a few weeks, but hopefully I’ll be inspired to still check in here once or twice a week. If not, then I can assure you that I’ll be back full time at the end of July.

Garden Inspo
Right now it’s supposed to be summer here in Denmark – but it comes as no surprise that it’s quite windy here and not that warm yet. But we’ve still got to take care of our garden. We’ve got a few plans and projects for this summer, but I’m not sure we’ll finish all of them this year. I’ve been collecting pictures on Pinterest in order to show my husband, what I had in mind. So here’s a collection of some of the pictures I’ve showed him.

Hamburg Moments

Hamburg moments text

My husband and I just returned from yet another fantastic trip to Hamburg. I wanted to share a few where, when and what’s with you from our latest trip. We often stay in a flat, but almost always in the St. Pauli area.

Where to stay ➳ We stayed at east

Where to get your cup of coffee ➳ I would highly recommend you check out Nord Coast Coffee Roastery and less political (Hermetic coffee roasters)

When to visit the city ➳ Every single day of the year – we’ve been there spring, summer, fall and winter.

Where to get a decent burger and sweet potato fries ➳ Check out Brooklyn Burger Bar and Otto’s Burger (Try the salted caramel shake!)

Where to find food trucks ➳ Street food session Yum!

Where to shop ➳ Get away from the high streets – and explore all the cool little shops. This time I bought quite a few things in Kauf Dich Glücklich

Where to eat pizza (to die for) Das Mehl – we went there in November and loved every bite of pizza – I hope they’ll find a new location soon

What to do on a rainy day Visit Miniature Wunderland – it’s not just for kids – adults will love it too

Have a fantastic day xoxo
