Interior details – raw meets clean and simple

Lately, I’m really inspired by tiny interior details, when it comes to decorating your home.

I’ve always loved walking around town and spotting different interior details in the homes I walk by. My husband and I used to do it a lot before we had kids (not in a nosy kind of way, of course). I’m sure we’ll do it again soon, because the kids are growing up, and in the not so distant future, we might get the chance to walk hand in hand down the street more often – just the two of us.

Until then, I’ll enjoy the times we do, and browse the internet for even more inspiration. Take this home for example, I know it’s been done before, and some of you might even be tired of it by now. But I love the raw brick walls in this home. What is more, I love what they’ve done with it.

The fact that the kitchen and other spots around the home are so clean and minimalistic makes for the perfect raw element.

I’m drawn to this home, because I find some very beautiful solutions, which corresponds with my own taste, but I also find corners of this home, where I’m left thinking: Why on earth did they do that? That’s what I love most about getting a glimpse of how other people live and decorate.

Me before you – trailer

I know I normally don’t write about movies here, but I was just watching the official trailer for the movie Me before you, based on the novel by Jojo Moyes. The novel had me weeping for quite some time. The last novel, which made me cry like this was A crack in forever by Jeannie Brewer, which you should read, if you haven’t already.

I have to see the movie, to see if it can live up to the book – it’ll be in cinemas June 3, 2016.

The bag from Zara

Do you remember the super cute bag from Zara, which I showed you in this post? The one from their ss16 girls collection. Well, I went back a few days later to find out that it was sold out.

A few days later, I still thought about the bag, and I went back. This time it was back in stock, and I hit ‘Buy’ so fast, you wouldn’t believe it. Now I’m waiting for it to arrive.

And no, I didn’t buy it for my girl, I hope that I can use it as a small bag myself. If not, then I’m pretty sure she’ll be more than willing to take it off my hands and use it herself.

Bedroom inspiration

Are you ready for some bedroom inspiration?

Last week, I showed you a very cute kid’s room, filled with inspiration – check out the post right here, if you missed it.

Today, I’m going to take you back to the very same home, because I want to show you a cool detail in the bedroom. As some of you might remember, I’ve had a thing for the Botkyrka wall shelf from Ikea, for quite some time. Then when I looked closer at this bedroom, and discovered the shelves above the bed, I was very pleased. This is such a cool solution, and the perfect way to display books, and all the other things you tend to have beside your bed.

It’s so simple, clean cut and I’m still in love with them. I did end up buying a couple of white shelves for my boy’s room. They are perfect for all his Lego.

Family home inspiration on a grey day

Today, I’m in need of some family home inspiration.

It’s one of those horrible days. The kids didn’t sleep well, and neither did the parents. Everyone is way too tired to function normally. On top of it, they are both coughing, and it can go both ways. How are you holding up these days?

So today, I really need some inspiration, and later I really need to cuddle and do nothing at all with the kids.

I’ll leave you with a beautiful family home, which I find quite interesting. I like the simplicity of the interior, the black, white, grey scale mixed with a lot of green plants. After the night we’ve had, I’m seriously considering buying a larger bed, or placing a bed for either my husband or me in my boy’s room. I’m really inspired by the one in this family home.

A charming room for a kid

It seems like the never ending story around here. When you think you’re done with the kids’ rooms, then it’s almost time to start re-decorating again.

Okay, I’m partly to blame, I know. I tend to find cool new solutions, and then I want to implement some of them in their rooms.

But apart from my ideas, we haven’t found the right storage solution either. We keep trying new things, but after a while, we get tired of it. It’s either too big, too small, too (insert word), I’m sure we’ve tried it all.

The beds are another problem. It would be so practical if our daughter had a bigger bed, with storage underneath. A cool solution for our son’s room would be a bed like the one in this apartment. It would create the space he needs on the floor, and he would have a nook underneath, where he could have a TV or something similar.
