by Lassen to focus on the hallway – AW2017 news

I’m thrilled to see the AW2017 news from by Lassen. I love the fact that they’ve focused on functional design for the hallway. Most often it’s the first room people see, when they visit you – and I know ours has been filled with shoes, raincoats and what have you for way too long.

And being the design geek that I am, I’m even more thrilled about the fact that they’ve taken us back to where it all started, namely with the burnished copper Kubus candleholder, just like the first one designed in the 1960s by Mogens Lassen. That’s fantastic news, if you ask me. Now I’ll just have to come up with a solid plan in order for my husband to wrap his head around the fact that I need yet another Kubus candleholder.

HAY designs for IKEA

YPPERLIG HAY designs for IKEA

I’m sure you’re not surprised to find out that I’m pretty excited about IKEAs collaboration with HAY. I’ll be first in line to get my hands on some of the items, that’s for sure. I’ve collected a (tiny – I wish) shopping list already. Of course, I’ll have to see the YPPERLIG collection irl before making a final decision. However, I’m pretty enthusiastic about what I’ve seen so far. So I’ll show you what’s on my list – as long as you don’t go and buy all of the stuff before me 😉

Too cool for school – Girl clothes edition

Today, I want to share some cool back to school clothes with you. This post will only focus on clothes for girls – in this case my tween girl. I’ll then return with a boy edition in a few days. So, this back to school thing… well we’ve been hit by the “back to school craziness” big time this year. We’ve had way too much to take care of in the past two weeks, with our boy participating in a new television show for kids (which by the way was a fantastic experience – but more about that later, when they are done filming the show) and meetings. Our girl is now on 5th grade ans she’s loving every minute of it – she’s learning the German language now. She’s turning into a real teen before our very eyes, and clothes is very much a part of her transformation. Could someone please turn back time?

She’s much more into having “the right clothes” than she’s ever been. She knows what she wants, and it’s so funny listening to her talk about wanting “blogger glasses” and so on. I’ve made a collage of some of the clothes from Zara, which is currently on her wishlist.

Shopping list:
Red knitted sweater
School bag
Pants with text
Black jeggins
Black leather boots
Lightning boots
Pink knitted sweater

Birthday Girl coming up…

Birthday Girl wishes

August is full of birthdays in my family. But first of all, I hope you’ve had an amazing summer. As you can see, I didn’t blog during my vacation, so I’m ready to share some awesome inspiration with you here again. In short, despite the terrible weather here in Denmark, my summer vacation wasn’t that bad. We mostly stayed here in Denmark, but also enjoyed a few days in lovely Gothenburg in Sweden. For the first time in 5 years, we didn’t re-book Svendborg/Christiansminde for the summer of 2018. Hopefully, we’ll travel through Europe next year, and explore some beautiful cities along the way. I’ll let you know, when we start planning the trip.

I’ve got a birthday coming up this month and in order to help some desperate souls out there, I’ve collected a few items for inspiration. You can also check out my Pinterest board for more wishes.

Items from my wishlist:
#1 Croissant necklace from Jukserei
#2 This cool After This We’re Getting Pizza yoga mat
#3 Sofie Schnoor Lace Scarf in cameo rose
#4 Sofie Schnoor Boot Classic
#5 Shimmer.Shine from Kevin Murphy
#6 Miss Jagger Earrings from Vera Vega

Have a foodie summer – Part one

Well, hello all you lovely foodies out there. Vacation time is here. I cannot wait – so lets get this party started with some food inspiration. The list is long, and some of the dishes on the list are oldies but still goodies. I can’t wait to try out new ones and watch while my kids help in the kitchen. They sure love it. My daughter even went to a cooking summer school this past week, and she’s even more excited about cooking after that.

I’ve decided to split this post up into two posts – maybe even three – this first one will focus on things to cook for dinner, then I’ll write one about breakfast dishes as well, and of course – no summer food posts without desserts and ice cream. So I hope you’ll enjoy it.

Have a wonderful foodie summer!

Staycation tips

Staycation is for the hardcore here in Denmark, because you can never trust the Danish weather. Most of our friends booked a vacation somewhere warm during this past week. We were so close ourselves, but decided to stay put.

Not sure what to do this summer? Well help is near. I’ve made a list of some of my favourite summer activities and they’re perfect for staycation inspiration. A few more days, and then it’s staycation time for me as well 🙂

Staycation to do
